Waiting for the Perfect Time...

Farmers who wait for perfect weather never plant.

If they watch every cloud, they never harvest.

Ecclesiastes 11:4

Have you ever thought to yourself, “I’ll just wait for the right time to start…” or “I’ll just wait for the right time to finish…” Let me be the first to admit: I’ve been rehearsing that line for a couple of years now 🫣

This month, May 2025, I completed my bachelor’s degree in Psychology & Life Coaching 🎉🥳. I had been chipping away at it for more years than I wish to disclose 😆 but something clicked when I crossed the finish line:

What would have happened if I kept waiting for the “perfect timing” to finish this degree?

Y’all, my life looked like: serving in the military on active duty, moving cross country multiple times, new jobs, increased responsibilities, kid after kid (lol), homeschooling, new levels in ministry, etc. Life just wasn’t slowing down and that ‘perfect time’ wasn’t going to come anytime soon.. Finally, in the summer of 2024, I made the decision to take one class no matter what sacrifice I had to make. Do you know what happened after that? To my complete surprise, it was as if a Red Sea of opportunity opened up for me to finish this degree to its completion!

This is what I want to submit to you: what have you been waiting for the perfect time to start or complete?

The reality is, no one knows how much time they have on this earth to complete what God put on our hearts to do. Move towards it NOW

Your time is now. God didn't place that desire on your heart without reason. Who knows what this step of obedience may bring! My challenge to you this week is to find one single thing to do to move the needle on that accomplishment. I believe by faith that it will ignite something in you and it will give God something to work with in your life, making room for the time, resources, and strength to see it to its completion!

Living with Purpose,

Allison J. Carr
